Bloodspire and Hyperborea Merged
In December of 2008, there was news of server merges in Age of Conan. It was then that Age of Conan, Hyborian Adventures producer Craig Morrison mentioned the merges would take place in stages. The merger was postponed for a month before Funcom was confident it could manage the server mergers smoothly.
Then on the 7th of January, 2009, as part of the merger plans: the Oceanic AoC server of Bloodspire was successfully merged together with the Hyperborea server. At the time, Age of Conan's US community manager Glen "Famine" Swan joked "I'm currently on Bloodspire now watching the global spam." The merger went well and things were back to normal. This was the first of many scheduled server merges and went smoothly.
As of today, there are many AoC gold sales sites still trying to sell Age of Conan gold on the Hyperborea server, even though it is now non-existant (and they deliver gold as quickly as they update their server list).
